Toronto, ON — The Toronto Cardiac Clinic (TCC) is pleased to announce a new research partnership with the University Health Network (UHN) to advance the understanding of how wearable technology can help predict cardiovascular risk.

TCC will collaborate closely with Dr. Paul Oh, Medical Director of UHN’s Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation Program, to support an innovative study exploring how data from wearable devices may help forecast cardiovascular events before they occur. This research builds on UHN’s ongoing work investigating the potential of devices to enhance cardiac rehabilitation and long‑term heart health monitoring.

“The Toronto Cardiac Clinic is proud to partner with The University Health Network and Dr. Paul Oh, Medical Director of UHN’s Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation Program, on an exciting new study to evaluate the use of wearable technology at predicting one's risk for cardiovascular events.”

UHN’s recent reporting highlights how wearable devices may offer clinicians new insights into patient health, providing continuous data that traditionally required in‑clinic testing. According to UHN, wearables have the potential to support patients in ways “rehab therapists could previously only dream of,” offering a promising new frontier in cardiovascular care.

This partnership underscores TCC’s commitment to advancing evidence‑based cardiac care and leveraging emerging technologies to improve patient outcomes. The study aims to contribute meaningful data to the growing field of digital health and preventive cardiology.
